Oliver Hall was born, and raised in Liverpool. His father is a Seaman in the Royal Navy, and his mother stayed at home with Oliver. In November, 1915 Oliver joined the Sea scouts and did tasks consisting of patrolling the beach, and not much else. Until November 1916 when he volunteered to join the Brittanic on her 6th voyage.
