Biography

Henry Jameson was born in Surrey, England, on June 3rd, 1886, into a calm, normal family. Inspired by books about medics and their heroic acts in the American Civil War, he would grow up and enroll in King’s College Hospital in 1905 at age 19, beginning his studies across trauma care topics before finishing and graduating from the college four years later in 1909. He continued working there as a junior physician, gaining experience in trauma and care, before learning about the outbreak of World War I. Thinking of the possible deaths and injuries, he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps not long after the war started, going to the front lines to help people, climbing the ranks of the Royal Army Medical Corps before learning of the HMHS Britannic. He joined the medical crew onboard for every voyage, continuing before finally being promoted to an orderly medical officer. Upon learning about the new voyage to Greece, he packed up all of his medical supplies before traveling to the port of departure.
