NAME: Marshall Hotchkiss

DATE OF BIRTH: February 14th, 1886

AGE: 30

NATIONALITY: American

BOARDING: Southampton, England

BIOGRAPHY: Marshall Hotchkiss was born in the city of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. A talented artist and craftsman, friends describe him as an endearing and stringent individual.

After graduating from school, Marshall had grown a passion for travelling the world, so he decided to work on steamships for a living. He joined the White Star Line on January 5th, 1907 to apply as a steward on the R.M.S. Oceanic. He would meet Daniel Barrel for the first time in 1910.

After working with the White Star Line for 5 years, he found out that the next voyage of the R.M.S. Oceanic, which was scheduled to start on March 20th, 1912, was cancelled due to an ongoing coal strike. To make things worse, the list of available crew positions for the next voyage of the R.M.S. Olympic was already full, so that wasn't an option either. This was bad news for him, because if he couldn't be able to accommodate passengers, he would surely lose his job.

Thankfully, Hotchkiss and Barrel had heard about the upcoming maiden voyage of the R.M.S. Titanic, scheduled to set sail from Southampton, England on April 10th, 1912. So, Hotchkiss applied as soon as he could to apply as a steward on the grand, almighty vessel. Alas, at 11:40 p.m. on April 14th, 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg. Throughout the sinking, Hotchkiss helped assist second-class passengers up to the Boat Deck to secure their way to safety in the lifeboats. Unfortunately, never got into one himself and went down with the ship...

...At least that was what the headlines incorrectly said. In actuality, he and Barrel jumped off the ship and into Collapsible D just as it touched the water. When he's not on his shift, he can be seen walking around the grand liner or working on an artistic craftwork. After being rescued by the Carpathia and being taken to New York, Barrel and Hotchkiss tried to stay away from the sea and lived together on land for a while, but in September 1916, two years after the outbreak of the First World War, they were recalled by the White Star Line to work aboard the H.M.H.S. Britannic. Hotchkiss has already gotten in routine, and is preparing for his third voyage on the ship.
