BIO
-----------------------------
Sophie McAllister was born on the 11th of April 1891, at Falkirk to a Welsh mother and Scottish father, who was a D.I of the Yard. At just 12 years old her father passed away in the line of duty, leaving her mother a widow and single mother to her and her sister.

At first, the library was her primary job, serving as the librarian for the Falkirk Public Library, not until White Star Line caught her interest, joining the line in 1909, serving on the Suevic and Adriatic as a Stewardess, and then served on the Olympic, Britannic's sister ship, as her Librarian ever since her maiden voyage in June 1911.

She was noted to have a cat around with her at all times onboard ships, a male British shorthair named Bobby. Bobby served as the Mouser of the Olympic, and the Mouser of the Adriatic as a matter of his owner's service to White Star Line, he did this just to make himself look productive like his owner. But, Bobby wasn't around for Britannic, Sophie regarded that it was reasonable to keep him at home, due to sanitary and healthy and safety concerns.

When War broke out, Sophie was already undergoing training to become a nurse, on which she commenced in 1913. By the beginning of 1916, she was fully qualified as a nurse, joining the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Service Reserve shortly after, She quit her librarian duties on WSL to focus on nursing, and boy that was the right call.
Sophie was noted by her peers throughout her White Star Line service as quite shy, orderly, disciplined and focused. But once you bond with her, her great sense of humor, empathy and charisma (alongside her inner chatterbox with her signature scottish accent) shines through.

She also is engaged with James Lawrence Hyde in 1913, a First class steward she met on the Olympic and madly fell in love with. Who went on to serve in the King's Own (Royal Liverpool Regiment) during the war, they plan on tying the knot fully after the war concludes.

As of November 1916, she has been assigned to the H.M.H.S Britannic, overseeing 2 wards (A, and B.), but Sophie noted that if Brittanic were to go through the war, she'd serve as her librarian as well, due to her plans of returning to librarian duties.
