Biography
John Edward Morris was born on April 7, 1888, in England. At 28 years old, he serves as a steward aboard His Majesty’s Hospital Ship Britannic during the First World War in 1916. Experienced, disciplined, and attentive to detail, he takes pride in his duties and maintains a professional manner when serving the ship’s officers and attending to their needs. Accommodated in the officers’ quarters, John follows a structured daily routine and understands the importance of discretion, punctuality, and good conduct aboard ship. Although reserved in unfamiliar company, he is courteous toward his fellow crewmen and respects the medical staff and wounded servicemen aboard Britannic. Having spent years working toward a dependable career at sea, he values loyalty, responsibility, and the bonds formed between shipmates. As Britannic undertakes her final voyage across the Mediterranean, John remains focused on his responsibilities, unaware of the tragedy that awaits the ship on November 21, 1916.
